Collecting data with measuring devices

Tampere University and TAMK

When deploying a new instrument or a new procedure for generating research data, it is useful to consider the entire life cycle of the data from the moment it is generated to its archiving or controlled destruction. The aspects to be considered include the security of data processing, the amount of data, the retention periods of the data in different situations and, in particular, nominating the different people responsible for the instrument and the data it produces.

In many cases, it is necessary to establish as automatic a link as possible between the measuring instrument producing the data and the information system that stores the data, which often requires specific data communication and IT solutions.

Contact the IT Helpdesk if you need support for managing the data produced by your measuring instrument.
