Installation and usage of Chinese and Russian software is forbidden in University / TAMK supported devices

Requirements of privacy legistlation and information security can not be properly assured when using software or services from produced from mentioned countries therefore usage and installation of those if forbidden into university or TAMK owned devices.  

We do not recommend using those on other devices either. 

Exceptions to this policy will be done based on risk analysis case by case. We will monitor also security of WEB based services from these countries and if those are recognized as harmful or risky to our operations and access to those can be also limited.

Forbidden AI software / services in TUNI environment

We can not ensure the following intellectual property rights, EU privacy regulation and information security requirements of Chinese IA services. Therefore using these is forbidden in Tampere university / TAMK.

Using instant messaging applications in university devices

Instant messaging applications are for private use and TAU/TAMK does not have agreements with the suppliers. This means that we can not quarantee the privacy and proper handling of information when using these services. If You anyway need to use such application we suggest using SIGNAL.

It is not allowed to install following applications to TUNI devices. 

• Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp
• Discord
• VK, Telegram
• WeChat 

In case You must use the listed application do it using browser only.
