Microsoft 365 cloud services for education
You can use Microsoft 365 tools in teaching and learning in many ways. You can use individual applications to support teaching and learning, or create a TUNI Groups area for student groups, where you can pick a selection of different tools for group work.
M365 tools
You can access all M365 tools at microsoft365.com. Log in with your TUNI ID.
Tools suitable for teaching and learning include Forms (survey tool), Sway (presentation creation), OneNote and Class notebook (notebook app), Planner (project management) and Stream (video sharing). You can also find online versions of office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) from the menu, which enable co-writing of documents. M365-portal includes Copilot-AI-tools. These versatile tools are available for both staff and students.

Highlights of M365 tools useful for teaching and learning
Microsoft 365 Teach
Several small AI-assisted support functions for teachers. The application currently offers four different functions, and more are on the way:
- Lesson Plan: Create a draft of a lesson.
- Rubric: Create a draft of an assessment matrix.
- Flashcards: Create and distribute flashcard decks to students to support learning and revision.
- Quiz: Create and share tests or quizzes with students, for example self-check revision or practice tests.
- Immediately available to all staff users, not available for students

Microsoft 365 Create
Create and edit graphical content for your learning materials with AI assistance. Start by describing the content you want in text. For example, images, social media posts, announcements, infographics, posters, PowerPoint templates, and short videos. M365 Create works similarly to tools such as Canva (not available in Tampere universities) and Adobe Express (immediately available only to TAMK staff).

Teams Class
The Class team differs from the other types of teams in that it uses Assignments to create and assess learning tasks. In addition, in the Class group you will find a Home page that brings together in one view the group’s activities, introduction and announcements.
