About me

I work as a laboratory manager at the Faculty of Technology and Natural Sciences in the Materials and Environmental Engineering Unit. My area of responsibility includes being responsible for the up-to-dateness and equipment stock of the bio- and circular economy, chemistry and materials science laboratories in the role of the leader of the laboratory team. I work under the head of the faculty's laboratory and research environments, and there are 11 people in my laboratory team.

My background is in applied physics and materials physics, cryogenics and nanotechnology (FM 2001, JY). In Jyväskylä, I worked as a researcher and since 2005 as a laboratory engineer at the Department of Physics at the Nanoscience Center (NSC), where I was responsible for the physics research laboratories and the clean room environment. In the years 2001-2003, I was involved in the design and implementation project of the nanoscience center. I am involved in 13 publications in the field of material physics. In 2012, I moved to the current University of Tampere as a laboratory engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Foreman of the laboratory team, organization of personnel in the unit
  • Maintenance and development of the laboratories of the sub-units (CAM, EMS, BIC) of the MSEE unit
  • Coordinator of the ENS faculty in the Sähkötalo Research Hub project
  • Safety and development of chemical and laboratory work
