About me

Dr. Aleksandr Ometov is currently coordinating the Convergence of Humans and Machines research field and manages EU H2020 MSCA A-WEAR, and APROPOS ITN projects. Research is mainly related to applied information security for various distributed systems and networks.

He received D.Sc. (Tech) in Telecommunications and M.Sc. is Information Technology from Tampere University of Technology (TUT), Finland in 2018 and 2016, correspondingly. He also received his Specialist degree in Information Security from Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (SUAI), Russia in 2013.

During his free time, he is trying to become a better person by pursuing the International Professional Teacher Education degree at Tampere University of Applied Sciences.

Responsibilities

Convergence Coordinator & MSCA Project and Training Manager; supervision of Ph.D. and M.Sc. students; research in the multidisciplinary domain of information security and wireless communications; dissemination and outreach of the project research results; editorial and TPC work; organization of educational events.

Fields of expertise

Wireless communications; information security; distributed systems; authentication; blockchain technology and wearable applications.
