TAMK's strategy
TAMK's strategy is set for 2030 – and its goal is clear. We want to be the best university of applied sciences in Finland. Our strategy responds to the changing needs of society and guides our operations towards a more impactful future. The original strategy was approved in 2020, and its revised version was approved by TAMK Board in September 2025.
The strategic focus areas in 2025–2028
The main objectives of our strategy respond directly to the growing societal expectations placed on universities of applied sciences. These goals are concretized with the help of the strategic focus areas approved by TAMK Board on September 1, 2025.
Our profile is a multidisciplinary and working life oriented UAS
- We recognise and promote TAMK’s strong areas of expertise in education and RDI.

We are a forerunner in education export
- We expand international degree education responsibly and economically.
- We support the international students’ integration into the Finnish job market.
We respond to changing competence needs of working life
- We expand our RDI activities, increase international funding, and enhance our impact.
- We promote interaction between education and RDI.
- We increase the amount of life-long learning in our educational service
- We ensure our competitiveness as an employer by implementing a researcher career path model.
We use competitive advantages offered by the Tampere Universities community
- We lead internal collaboration within Tampere Universities.
- We increase cooperation in education and RDI.
