The course explores the basic theoretical approaches to strategic studies, a subfield of international relations, which focuses on how states alone and in multilateral coalitions further their security interests in international affairs applying different means of statecraft. The course puts particular focus on and takes a critical look at the concept of strategic culture. Furthermore, the course puts theory into practice and gives students the opportunity to deepen their understanding in the practical making of strategy.
