Navier-Stokes equations provide the governing mathematical model of fluid flows and fields. They are central in fluid dynamics and various applications of natural and engineering sciences. This course will introduce the fundamentals in the numerical approximation of NSE including the equations themselves, variational formulations, geometrical framework, discretization, and numerical solutions which we will investigate using the finite element method. The prerequisities include the contents of the calculus courses and/or the first three years of studies in natural or engineering sciences.
