Oma esittely

Olen soveltavan matematiikan professori (vuodesta 2025 alkaen) ja minulla on sähkötekniikan tausta. Nykyinen tutkimukseni keskittyy puiden ja metsien 3D-rakenteen mallintamiseen laserkeilausdatasta, tällaisen mallinnuksen epävarmuuden kvantifiointiin sekä niiden sovelluksiin metsä- ja ekologisessa tutkimuksessa. Olen myös yksi Suomen Akatemian FAME – Matemaattisen mallinnuksen, havainnoinnin ja kuvantamisen lippulaivan (2024-) päätutkijoista sekä päätutkija Suomen Akatemian projektissa Uusi puun lehtien jakautumisen inversiomenetelmä lähialueen LiDAR-datalle. Toimin myös yhtenä tutkijoista Suomen Akatemian Mallintamisen ja kuvantamisen huippuyksikössä 2018-2025.
