Anna-Leena Vuorinen

My academic background comprises degrees in statistics (Ms, 2011) and epidemiology (PhD, 2019), and I hold the Title of Docent in health data science (2022) at the University of Helsinki. I am the Academy Research Fellow 2024-2028.

My research focuses on digital epidemiology. I develop and apply data science methods in register-based studies that involve data linkages with Finnish health registers, hospital data lakes, biobanks, and consumer-generated data to better understand our health and health behaviors. I also have extensive experience with experimental studies, particularly in randomized controlled trials within the field of digital health.
