SISGA is an applied research and commercialisation-preparation project studying a wearable motion-sensor solution for gait analysis and rehabilitation. The aim is to bring objective movement measurement from specialised laboratories into routine rehabilitation and home-based training.
The project investigates what types of gait information, feedback and interaction logic are understandable to users and support rehabilitation in practice. It also examines the benefits and limitations of the solution in real-world use. A technical proof-of-concept solution will be developed and evaluated together with healthcare professionals and end users.
The project aims to develop and study the SISGA solution while strengthening the prerequisites for its commercialisation. In the wider perspective, SISGA seeks to transform the rehabilitation of mobility limitations by providing people and professionals with new, data-driven tools for movement assessment, training and the long-term maintenance of functional mobility.
