Protein Nanosystems

The Protein Nanosystems group investigates how diverse external stimuli — such as mechanical forces or light — regulate protein structure and function. By combining protein engineering, biophysical tools, and cell‑based models, we study how human proteins sense and respond to their environment. Inspired by the diversity of protein regulation in nature, we also create new stimuli‑responsive protein systems for research and biotechnology applications.
