Pre-Service Teacher Career Perspectives to Facilitate Sustainable Inclusive Education Reforms (PreTeCap)

Tampere University
Area of focusSociety

The project proposal relates with a novel approach to preparation, deployment and practice of Teacher Assistants (TA) promoting practice- and experience-based teacher education. The topicality of the project is the need to promote the practice of teaching assistants as an effective means for improving the quality of education. The project will develop contextually relevant educational content with the support of key strategic partners (and other stakeholders), based on an interdisciplinary approach, in order to provide the teaching assistants with relevant educational content in the perspective of their future careers. The preliminary results are intended as follows:

-To develop a meta-analysis of best practice from relevant research studies and tools of all countries of the project consortium, as well as to explore the “state of the art” in different environments for gaining a holistic view of the teaching assistants’ work in a global perspective.

-To develop, test and perfect a set of innovative educational tools, adapting them to the context of potential beneficiaries, as well as develop the guidelines for using of such a toolkit by partner institutions and higher education institutions in Latvia, Europe and beyond.
