Founded in 2024, MoniCardi is a health technology company spun out of the Tampere University that develops solutions based on heart rate variability analytics for the detection of heart disease, risk prediction and performance assessment.
The company’s technology analyses data collected from heart rate intervals and provides information on health status, physical exertion and performance. The solution is compatible with all devices that measure heart rate intervals.
Impact
MoniCard’s technology supports the earlier detection of heart conditions and the prediction of risks. It offers new opportunities for digital health services, remote monitoring and health tracking.
The solution also supports the assessment of athletes’ performance and workload by utilising data from existing monitoring devices more effectively than before.
Background
MoniCard is based on research into heart rate variability analytics and digital health solutions carried out at Tampere University's Computational Physics laboratory. The commercialisation of this research has been supported by Business Finland’s Research to Business funding.
