The GENEYE project addresses the challenge faced by manufacturing and food industry companies in South Ostrobothnia to utilize computer vision for improving production efficiency and quality control, as well as the region’s ambition to participate in developing dual-use technologies. Previous development activities have identified that the adoption of such technologies is slowed down by the need for specialized expertise, existing competence gaps in companies, and the complexity of advanced technologies. The project aims to lower the threshold for adopting computer vision by developing and piloting an advanced computer vision solution that combines generative AI, algorithm generation, voice control, and edge computing into a user-friendly, milk-carton-sized device. This device innovatively merges state-of-the-art technology with everyday usability.
