DIPP (Diabetes Prediction and Prevention Nutrition Study) is a research project focused on predicting and preventing type 1 diabetes and has been in operation since 1994. In the study, newborns are screened for genetic factors predisposing to type 1 diabetes, and children with an increased disease risk are followed throughout childhood. The screening is carried out at the university hospitals of Turku, Tampere, and Oulu.
The project’s activities in the Pirkanmaa Wellbeing Services County ended at the end of 2025, but continued in early 2026 at Tampere University. The research clinic on the Kauppi campus is located at Arvo Ylpön katu 34. The main entrance to the clinic is from Arvo Ylpön katu. The reception is located on the ground floor (1st floor) next to the information desk.
