Tampere University invites applications for two Vice President positions

Applicants for both Vice President positions must hold a doctoral degree and demonstrate a broad-ranging knowledge of the academic operating environment, substantial and proven leadership experience within the domain of the role, the ability to lead a networked and multidisciplinary organisation, and an excellent command of both Finnish and English.
For the position of Vice President for Research, applicants are also expected, among other qualifications, to demonstrate knowledge of the research funding landscape and science policy as well as an understanding of research infrastructures and the development of research ecosystems. For the position of Vice President for Education, applicants are also expected, among other qualifications, to demonstrate in-depth expertise in the higher education system and higher education policy as well as experience and a proven track record in the development of university-level education and teaching.
The appointment decisions will be made by the Board of Tampere University Foundation, which operates as Tampere University. The aim is for the Board to decide on the appointments at its meeting on 6 October 2026.
