This symposium brings together social scientists and clinicians to consider why young people’s own perspectives on health and wellbeing matter, and how research and care practices can better take these into account. We ask:
What becomes visible when young people are treated as experts in their own lives?
How do different research methods make space for or occlude the perspectives of children and youth?
What might we learn from the experiences of researchers studying young people’s wellbeing in different fields?
The event is hosted by PERLA - Tampere Centre for Childhood, Youth and Family Research, and the Under Pressure and Parenting Pain research projects.
