It is not necessary to print a licentiate thesis; they are available online on Trepo, the University’s institutional repository of publications.

Publishing and archiving a licentiate thesis

After the Turnitin originality check, the student must deposit the thesis in the Trepo system of the University Library according to the <a href="https://libguides.tuni.fi/theses/submitting_tau">instructions</a> after which the manuscript can no longer be revised. If the examiner is not in favor of accepting the thesis, the student must withdraw the manuscript. The examination process will start anew after the required revisions have been made. 

The thesis will be published once its approval has been recorded in the student information system and the entry has been conveyed from the system to the Library. The grade is not published online. The thesis is permanently added to the University Library’s collection.

Faculty of Education and Culture (EDU)

After the Turnitin check, the licentiate thesis is submitted for assessment in the Trepo publication system according to the Library’s instructions, after which the manuscript can no longer be edited. The examiners are sent the same version of the thesis as has been saved on Trepo. The Library’s website contains guidelines on <a href="https://libguides.tuni.fi/theses/submitting_tau">submitting a licentiate thesis for assessment</a>.

Licentiate theses are published electronically in Tampere University’s institutional repository Trepo, which the Library maintains. The thesis is published after its approval has been recorded in the student information system SISU and transferred from SISU to the Library. The grade will not be published online.
