Courses offered by university networks
Tampere University has joined a number of collaborative networks that offer flexible study opportunities and bring together the expertise of multiple member universities or other higher education institutes, see more information on some of them later on this page.
Degree students can, according to their right to study, complete courses offered by those networks and have the credits counted towards their degree as electives. Networks available for exchange students can be found here.
From the networks' own pages, you can see what fields the studies they offer are intended for and how to apply for them. You can register for the teaching of some of the higher education institutions of the networks in Sisu. You can see the above networks in your study rights in Sisu. You can add other higher education institutions' studies to your study plan and register for them as follows:
Applying for network studies in Sisu
1. Go to the student information system Sisu and the section titled Structure of studies.
2. In your study plan, go to the section reserved for free choice studies. If this section does not already display the category Free Choice Course Units, click on the section heading and activate the module and courses in the selection assistant that appears on the right.
3. Click the Free Choice Course Units module to become active. To the right opens the selection assistant. Choose to include cross-study offers in the search, in which case the courses of other higher education institutions that you can study for based on your Tampere University’s study right will be included in the application. Search and add to the plan the course you want.
4. Once you have added your desired course in the selection assistant, it will be reflected in your study plan.
5. You can now register for the courses you have added in Sisu as usual, even though they are organised by another higher education institution.
6. Once you have completed a course at another higher education institution and it has been assessed, the performance will be reflected in the study plan for the course. Executions are automatically transferred to Sisu and are also displayed on the Completed credits -tab.
For more information on making a personal study plan, see also the Sisu instructions: Structure of studies and PSP page.
