Tampere University’s Alum of the Year
Criteria for the Alum of the Year
The Alum of the Year Award is given out annually. The Alumni of the Year are people who
- have worked or studied at a university in Tampere: the current Tampere University, the former Tampere University of Technology or the University of Tampere, or their predecessor institutions;
- have enhanced the University’s reputation;
- have made pioneering contributions to their professional field;
- have made a positive impact on society in Finland or abroad;
- have fostered interaction between the University, broader society and alumni.
Tampere University’s 2025 Alum of the Year
Industry and business leader Johanna Lamminen has been presented with Tampere University’s 2025 Alum of the Year Award. Lamminen is known as the long-term CEO of energy company Gasum. Under her leadership, the company expanded into a Nordic energy company that invests in liquefied natural gas infrastructure in the Nordic countries and launched biogas production.
