Work Research Centre (WRC) conducts high-quality, multidisciplinary research on working life and produce high-impact scientific knowledge that addresses the needs of society. In addition, WRC supports graduate and post-graduate training, and implements development projects. The centre’s efforts are informed by diverse disciplines and brings together experts from sociology, social psychology, social and public policy, administrative science, psychology, and education.

Research themes

Research is structured around five themes: 1.	Changes in working life: Digitalisation and the climate crisis 2.	Job demands, resources, and well-being at work 3.	Power relations and gender in working life 4.	Labour markets, workforce utilisation, and labour policy 5.	Work communities, change, and development.

The WRC’s multidisciplinary foundation enables the examination of working life phenomena from the perspectives of individuals, groups, communities, and society as a whole. Aimed at advancing theoretical and empirical knowledge as well as producing best-practice recommendations, WRC conducts mixed-methods research utilizing large-scale survey and register data, interviews, participatory observations, video-recording.
