The Fulbright-Tampere University Scholar Award
The Fulbright-Tampere University Scholar Award offers U.S. scholars the opportunity to conduct research at the Tampere University for a period of 3-10 months. The Fulbright- Tampere University grantee will conduct research and lecture at any of the seven faculties of the University.
It includes monthly grant of 4,500 EUR (approx. 5,000 USD), paid out in euro in monthly installments, one-time travel allowance of 1,800 USD, housing for the scholar and his/her accompanying family arranged and paid for by the host university and Fulbright support services.
Scholars at Risk
Tampere University is a member of the global Scholars at Risk Network promoting academic freedom and supporting persecuted researchers.
The University offers temporary positions and acts as a host institution for scholars who are forced to flee. Funding for hosting threatened scholars is available for Finnish institutions via the U.S. based Institution of International Education Scholar Rescue Fund with co-funding from the Finnish National Agency for Education.

Teaching staff mobility
As for teaching staff mobility, the Erasmus+ programme, other mobility programmes and bilateral agreements signed with partner institutions facilitate teacher exchanges.
In addition to these programmes, international university networks promote and fund researcher and teaching staff mobility.
