MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships at Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences

We at the Faculty of Information Technology and Communications Sciences (ITC) at Tampere University are excited to welcome applicants to join and actively co-develop successful applications to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA PF) program.

The Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences covers the full spectrum of transmitting and processing matter, information and meaning. Our research draws on our unique combination of recognised expertise across a range of disciplines – all the way from languages and communication studies, through computing sciences, up to electrical engineering.

Our research is clustered in twelve Research Centres that are inviting candidates to look for a supervisor:

More specific descriptions of each centre are available below.

How to apply to ITC

At Tampere University, we have a unified procedure for selecting postdoctoral candidates for the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship call. Furthermore, the university offers comprehensive support to all applicants through our Masterclass, starting in May, to assist with application preparation. To join our faculty:

Anubha Goel

"Applying for the MSCA-PF was an intense and sometimes overwhelming experience, but I never felt alone in the process. I was incredibly fortunate to have a supervisor, whose guidance and belief in my work made all the difference. He helped me refine my research objectives, structure my secondment, and connect with key collaborators, strengthening my proposal in ways I hadn’t imagined. Beyond that, the TAU Preaward team was truly exceptional. Their feedback, patience, and expertise made the administrative and writing process feel much more manageable. I wasn’t just applying for a fellowship—I was growing as a researcher."

“The application process went smoothly, thanks to the support of my supervisor and the TAU Preaward team. My supervisor provided invaluable guidance in shaping a strong research proposal, and his critical insights helped me strengthen my application. The TAU Preaward team played a key role from the very beginning, particularly through the coaching provided in the MSCA Master Class, which helped me refine all major sections of my proposal to ensure clarity, coherence, and competitiveness. They also reviewed my proposal before submission, allowing me to make further improvements. After being awarded the fellowship, the TAU Postaward team was exceptional in handling the required documentation and ensuring my smooth relocation to Tampere, Finland"

"I am honored to have been awarded the prestigious MSCA postdoctoral fellowship in 2023. Over five attempts, my supervisor's patience, continuous support, and valuable feedback in refining the research objectives, methodology, and overall structure of the proposal were instrumental in my success. I am also deeply grateful to the Preaward team for their outstanding administrative support, which ensured a smooth submission process and helped me meet all deadlines. Their Masterclass on proposal writing, conducted throughout my attempts, provided a clear pathway for crafting a successful application."
