Political Censorship of Platforms is a three-year research initiative that explores the political censorship of global social media platforms and how platform decisions and algorithmic control are reflected in the actions of social media users, especially activists producing political content. Given the significant power that social media platforms have over the information we see and the topics we can discuss, it is important to examine the global digital giants' interpretation of politically appropriate or inappropriate content.
This research is situated within the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence, algorithms, and data literacy. It aims to shed light on the various impacts of automated information technology on citizen participation, agency, and expression.
