The Next Move 2 (NeMo2) – Vocational expertise, working life skills, and workplaces as learning environments in the context of apprenticeship education

NeMo2 research project examines collaboration between vocational institutions and workplaces, vocational teachers´ working life skills, processes of workplace learning, and apprentices´ vocational expertise.

Background

Along with the reform of vocational upper secondary education, the significance workplace learning is increasing. There is a need for better understanding of collaboration between vocational students, teachers, and working-life stakeholders as well as workplaces as learning environments in the context of vocational education.

Goal

The aim of this project is to produce research-based information on vocational teachers ´working life skills, the pedagogy of workplace learning, and apprentices´ development of vocational expertise. The results will be put into practice in collaboration with TREDU Tampere Vocational College (apprenticeship training center).
