The language technology class is a lab with 26 workstations.
In addition to the University’s basic software (Microsoft Office, etc.), the following computer programs are installed on the computers of the lab:
- Adobe Creative Cloud
- Adobe FrameMaker 11
- EZTitles 5.0.12
- EZTitlesApplicationManager 6.0.4
- ABBYY Fine Reader 11
- LF Aligner 4.21
- SDL Trados Studio 2021
- Wordfast 5.13.0
The facility is suitable for:
- Translating with the help of CAT software (Trados, Wordfast)
- Doing optical character recognition of scanned texts, i.e. OCR (Fine Reader)
- Align parallel texts (LF Aligner)
- Subtitle videos (EZTitles)
- Designing documents with a publishing system (FrameMaker)
The lab is used for educational purposes, especially for classes on computer-assisted translation and subtitling courses. Outside the teaching hours, the facility is also used for independent work.
