Imagined West: Occidentalist narrative in Finnish news media in the context of the war in Ukraine

The West is discussed in public discourse as if it were a clear, nation-state-like region. The purpose of the research project is to analyze the Western narratives that appear in Finnish news media (HS, IL, Yle), the imagery they create of Western countries, and their identity and geopolitical consequences in the context of the war in Ukraine. The results of the research can be utilized in scientific, journalistic, and political expert work.
