Finnish food industrial workers

A six years follow-up of a large Finnish food industry employees started in 2003 (N=1995) and company’s sickness absence registers (2002-2008) and interviews in 2006. A repeated questionnaire survey was conducted among all employees of the company in spring 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009 with a response rate ranging from 56 % to 72%. The information on age, gender and sickness absences diagnosis of all employees employed in 2002-2008 was obtained through the personnel register. The study participants were mostly blue-collar (80%) and women (≈60%) with a mean age of 41±9.7 years (range 20 - 66 years) at baseline. The retirement data will be obtained from Finnish Center for Pension.
