Ville Rantanen

I work as a senior specialist on supporting research ethics and research integrity at the University. I also support the responsible use of artificial intelligence and language models. The primary target group for my direct support is research staff, but I am flexible.

In addition to direct support, I develop support processes. My expertise includes knowledge of the regulations, guidelines, and instructions on topics that belong to my area of responsibilities. I make interpretations of these and promote good practices. I am also involved in other research development tasks as part of the strategic support for the University’s top management. I represent our unit in some university-level working groups and the University in national and international networks.

Being contacted is extremely important for me so that I stay informed about the need for support in the matters under my responsibility.

I am also a research ethics adviser trained by the Finnish National Board on Research Integrity TENK. I offer confidential advice on alleged violations of research integrity (RI). I am the coordinator of research integrity advisers in the University.
