About me
I am Doctoral Researcher in the team project “Utopia and Eastern European Literature after 1989” (2024-2028; Research Council of Finland). My research interests span across comparative literature and cultural studies, utopian studies, European studies, time studies, literature of exile, and ethics.
My current research project takes on an interdisciplinary approach to examine contemporary Bulgarian and Serbian utopian/dystopian writing. It discusses the Southeast European utopia in the context of world literature and especially in comparison to the Western literary utopia. I also look at the relationship between utopia and the concept of nationhood in Bulgaria and Serbia, postmodernist trends in the Balkan literary utopia, and what work is produced in utopian and cultural studies when reading Balkan utopias and dystopias against the established Western canon of utopian literature.
