Reza Jalayer
About me
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at Tampere University. I received my PhD from Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) in 2026, where my research focused on uncertainty-aware AI for manufacturing and industrial systems. My work spans several areas including human–robot interaction (HRI), sound source localization, computer vision for operator safety, and industrial fault diagnosis.
During my PhD, I was a visiting researcher at the Mechanical Systems Control (MSC) Lab at UC Berkeley, where I conducted research on computer vision methods for HRI, focusing on improving the safety of human operators working alongside industrial robots.
I obtained my Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology (2017–2020) and AmirKabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) (2013–2017), respectively.
