
About me
I am a member of the JUSTSPACES research network. My research interests include space, politics and democracy, as well as histories of time and space. My work brings into dialogue human geography, urban studies, political theory, and history of science and technology.
I am the author of Urban Rage: The Revolt of the Excluded (Yale University Press, 2017), Space, Politics and Aesthetics (Edinburgh University Press, 2015), Badlands of the Republic: Space, Politics and Urban Policy (Wiley-Blackwell, 2007), and editor (with Nigel Clark and Clive Barnett) of Extending Hospitality: Giving Space, Taking Time (Edinburgh University Press, 2009).
Responsibilities
I participate in the activities of the JUSTSPACES research network, and work in the Space, Justice and Everyday Democracy project, led by Prof. Päivi Kymäläinen (Kone Foundation, 2022-2026).
