About me

Smart energy transition expert combining technical and business perspectives. Specific interests on energy transition, role of digitalization in energy value chain, systemic resilience and new roles in changing energy business environment. Activities relating for instance to renewable energy, smart grids, smart buildings, IoT applications in energy, demand response, VPPs, flexibility service provision, energy storage units and EV charging as well as new business models built upon them.

Wide experience on managing significant R&D portfolios on smart energy substance area. Concrete experience in building and managing major business ecosystems. Long experience on project management and coordination. Involvement in several international co-operation networks. Development of international research and collaboration projects. In addition to research-oriented activities, wide-ranging consulting and advisory roles, including direct customer contacts and sales activities. 

Earlier presence in global initiatives such as Clean Energy Ministerial, IEA ISGAN ExCo and Mission Innovation, as well as in European networks such as EERA and ETIP SNET. Evaluating articles and plans for various purposes. Evaluator for research proposals for EU and national organizations.

Gained experience and strong understanding for viewpoints of network operator and manufacturing industry on system intelligence, flexibility, etc. Wide understanding of regulatory and market mechanisms enabling new services.
