
MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships at Faculty of Social Sciences
The Faculty of Social Sciences brings together research on society and health in a new way, and its contribution helps to solve different welfare challenges. The Faculty’s internationally high level, multidisciplinary know-how ranges from understanding the long processes of social change to topical questions on the structure of society, institutions and everyday life.
MSCA PFs provide excellent, fully paid opportunities for talented researchers to boost their career and skills development. We are currently preparing for the 2025 call (deadline: 10th of September 2025). Tampere University (TAU) has longstanding experience in MSC actions. We make a substantial effort in MSCA PF calls and have achieved high success rates over the years. In the SOC faculty, we have a variety of interesting, innovative projects with experienced supervisors. We are looking for promising candidates who want to improve their research careers and networks, move to a different, exciting environment, and broaden their research horizons.

The following research groups and centers at the SOC faculty are currently looking for postdoctoral researchers to join and actively co-develop successful applications to the MSCA PF call 2025 (please, see below).
Gerontology Research Center GEREC is looking for ambitious and motivated applicants who wish to seek innovative solutions for challenges that aging and longer lives bring for societies and individuals. Major research strands include Active ageing, life-space mobility and physical activity; Health, functioning, dementia and biological ageing; Life course, retirement and agency; as well as Services, care and politics. Emerging technologies Lab is looking for bold and innovative researchers who are interested in combining social sciences and technology. EMT LAb conducts social scientific and social psychological research on human behavior in technological environments. This includes investigations of the internet and social media, metaverse and extended reality, and artificial intelligence and robotics. The research group for Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Vaccine Programs in Public Health Practice is looking for talented scholars who wish to contribute to health sciences by combining epidemiology, demography and public health science. Concepts and approaches of the group derive from demography, where they are used for research on population dynamics, while epidemiology deals with disease occurrence and public health questions.
