Tampere Institute for Advanced Study welcomes new Research Fellows to its research community

In the Call for Applications in spring 2025, nine two-year Postdoctoral Research Fellowships and six three-year Senior Research Fellowships in Tampere University’s fields of research were open to new candidates. The process resulted in applications submitted by a total of 563 applicants. After the candidate pre-selection conducted by a selection committee consisting of the university’s professors in the fields of technology, health, and society, sixty-one shortlisted applications were ranked by international external evaluators in the same fields.
“Many of the international experts considered the overall standard of the applications they assessed to be high, which reflects the large number of applications received and the opportunity provided by the pre-selection process to submit only very high-quality applications for external evaluation," says Juha Teperi, the Director of the Tampere Institute for Advanced Study.
“Some of the now recruited Fellows have come to Tampere only recently, some have worked at our university already for a longer time. What they all share is the remarkable potential to take their research to the next level”, Teperi adds.
The President of Tampere University appointed fifteen Research Fellows based on the proposal of the selection committee in May. In accordance with the proposal, the President also placed 24 researchers on a reserve list.
