Scopus AI – Supporting Information Retrieval

Tampere Universities

The Library has acquired the Scopus AI tool for the use of the Tampere Universities community. With Scopus AI, you can explore the possibilities of generative AI-powered information retrieval. Scopus AI is an add-on to Elsevier’s Scopus database, utilizing its content and based on natural language processing.
Using AI in Scopus AI allows you to ask questions or formulate hypotheses in free-form text, without needing precise keywords or Boolean operators.
When you enter a question or hypothesis, Scopus AI analyzes relevant studies and generates a response based on their abstracts. The response includes several elements:
- A brief summary with internal references to the database
- An extended summary
- A concept map
- Experts in the field
- Key publications in the research area
Training on Friday March 7th at 9.15-9.45
- Explore the service: Scopus AI (Elsevier) (Remote access requires TUNI login).
- The database is also available via the library’s Databases A–Z list and the Andor search service.
