The interface between science and religion is being probed and pushed in new ways in our time of globalization. New knowledge is being produced about how people manage and negotiate the boundaries between instrumental rationality and religiosity in their daily lives, about how global trends intersect with local realities, and how people themselves see these negotiations. Such investigations are now inherently multi-disciplinary, drawing on philosophy, anthropology, sociology, science and technology studies, education studies, religious studies, and others.

We are delighted to invite you to explore these questions at the international colloquium on Revisiting the Science-Religion Interface: Glocal, Bottom-Up, Multi-Disciplinary at Tampere University. The colloquium will include presentations on cutting-edge research in the field by a number of internationally renowned academics, including from Finland.

The two-day colloquium is being organized by the research project “Science and religion in northern Europe”.

Lectures and sessions are open to all interested. Register now and join the discussion on the new interface of science and religion!
