In their inaugural lectures, our new professors provide an introduction to their field of research and discuss the latest achievements, key questions and directions for future research. For the University, inaugural lectures are an occasion to welcome new professors to the university community.
In 2025, our new professors delivere their inaugural lectures on Thursday 15 May. As last year, the lectures will be divided among the three campuses (City centre, Hervanta, and Kauppi) in the morning, and we will gather for a joint celebration at the Main Building's Main Auditorium on the City centre campus in the afternoon.
At the beginning of the afternoon event, the procession will enter the auditorium accompanied by music, after which the President will open the event. After speeches by two new professors, all new professors will be presented with flowers on stage, and the event will conclude with a musical performance. Afterwords cake and coffee will be served in the foyer of the Main Auditorium.
Dress code for the audience: business casual.
Please register for the afternoon event. (No registration is required for the morning lectures.)
