This annual event celebrates research and innovation in fields that advance digital technologies, with plans for expansion into a Scandinavian-level competition next year. This year’s event will honor two outstanding scholars. Valtteri Karmitsa will receive the Best Master Thesis Award for his work on "Pre-validation of SoC via Hardware and Software Co-simulation," which addresses critical challenges in System-on-Chip (SoC) development through early hardware/software integration. Raju Ahamed will be awarded the Best Dissertation for his significant contributions to "Millimeter-Wave Front-End Circuits for Wireless Communications," focusing on high-performance circuits essential for 5G and beyond.
These awards are given based on several criteria, including the importance of the problem addressed, theoretical and practical contributions, research methodology, and the time invested in their work. The winners were selected by a committee led by Prof. Ari Visa, with members from various Finnish universities.
Attendees can look forward to 20/30-minute presentations from each recipient, offering insights into their research and its impact on the fields of Signal Processing and Circuits & Systems.
The IEEE Finland SP/CAS Chapter encourages all members and the academic community to attend and support the event, either in person or online. This celebration not only honors individual achievements but also reinforces the collective pursuit of scientific excellence.
