ACElife-research project organises a webinar on legislation regarding children who have witnessed domestic violence.
Dr. Mikaela Magnusson, a senior lecturer from the University of Gothenburg, presents preliminary results from a research project on the Barnfridsbrott legislation in Sweden, which came into effect in 2021.
The presentation focuses on children’s role during criminal investigations and court proceedings related to domestic violence and examines legal assessments in rulings from both District and Court of Appeal, exploring whether, and how, the new law strengthens the protection for children who witness violence.
