I am the Professor of North American Studies and I lead the Public Policy Analysis, Master's Program in Social Science Research  

My main lines of research are in experimental economics and in healthcare economics.

I use experimental methods to explore how well our theories work and to develop extensions to theories when tests reveal that people do not behave as we expect.

My healthcare research looks at efficiencies and coverage in various types of healthcare institutions. I also explore the incentives that healthcare systems give to the various actors – doctors, patients, administrators, insurers, etc – within them.

I have used economics to explore criminal policy.

I have also done extensive social choice research, to explore how different voting methods or mechanisms can affect outcomes.
