Copilot Chat agent library

Copilot Chat agent library is still under development, and the actual release will take place during AI Week on 13–17 April 2026.

The Copilot Chat agent library is a place where members of the Tampere Universities can share Copilot Chat agents they have created, as well as their instructions, prompts. The library brings together AI assistant ideas for everyone to use, modify, and further develop.

Copilot Chat is available free of charge to staff and students (18+) of the Tampere higher education community at microsoft365.com/chat . On the left side of the page, you'll find the Agents, where you can create your own agents. In this context, "agent" refers to AI assistants that are trained and instructed to act in a specific way in conversation. Assistants are given precise instructions, a defined role, or limited knowledge, which guides their responses in conversation. AI assistants differ from autonomous agents in that they do not independently carry out tasks or actions; instead, they stay within the framework of their given instructions and require an initiative—such as a conversation starter, request, or question—from a human to operate.

The aim of the Copilot Chat agent library is:

  • make it easier to adopt AI assistants in everyday work
  • support co-creation and sharing
  • provide inspiration for building new AI assistants

Using the Copilot Chat agent library

Copy the instructions for the Copilot Chat agent shared in the library and create your own AI assistant.

Steps:

  1. Go to Copilot Chat agent library
  2. Browse and get familiar with the AI assistants in the library. When you click on an assistant's name, a card will open showing a description and detailed information on how to build a similar AI assistant.
  3. If you want to create a similar AI assistant, copy the instructions (the prompt) provided under the agent's instructions section. You can then paste this prompt directly as the instructions for your own Copilot Chat agent. You can use the instructions as they are or modify them to suit your own needs.
  4. Instructions for creating an agent:
  5. Leave a comment or like on an agent you've tried and found useful.

If a link to an assistant is shared on the card, this means you can try and use an assistant created by someone else. However, note that you cannot edit the agent and it may be removed if the owner disables it. Therefore, it's always more reliable to create a similar agent yourself.

Sharing your own AI assistant

Have you created a successful AI assistant? If your idea could benefit others, share it in the Copilot Chat agent library! Describe how the assistant was built and how it was instructed to operate. The idea is that other users of the library can copy the instructions, possibly modify them to suit their own purposes, and then create a similar AI assistant for themselves using Copilot Chat agents. If you wish, you can also let others use your assistant directly. In that case, share also a link to the assistant.

Steps:

  1. Go to Copilot Chat agent library
  2. Click the "Create new agent" button at the top of the page.
  3. The fields of the form that opens match the Copilot Chat agent creation view. So you can enter information directly from your created agent into these fields. Below the fields, you'll see instructions for filling them out. Give your agent a descriptive name and a short summary of its purpose. In the instructions section, enter the prompt or instructions you gave to your agent, which others can copy to create a similar agent for themselves. If you want others to be able to try and use your agent, also share a link to your agent.
  4.  When you save the form, it will appear in the Copilot Chat agent library. Your name will be visible to other users. You can edit or delete the card you have created afterwards.
