About me

I defended my PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies in June 2022 at Tampere University, with the thesis ‘Community-Based Theatre as Conflict Transformation in Lampedusa: Co-Producing Knowledge about Life at the Militarised Border of Europe’. My supervisors were Prof. Tarja Väyrynen (Tampere University) and Docent Satu Ranta-Tyrkkö (University of Jyväskylä); opponent at the public defense was Professor Annick Wibben (Swedish Defense University).

I work as a university lecturer, playwright, actress, theatre director, community facilitator, diversity agent, singer and songwriter. I use theatre as a nonviolent tool of peace education, conflict transformation and peacebuilding.

I am currently working as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Bruno Lefort's project Homeward, funded by Kone Foundation (2022-2024). Homeward is a project that reframes how integration is understood and practiced through the use of co-creative practices. During the project, I co-organise and facilitate the workshops. I will be studying the process for research purposes, and in the final phase, I will work on the reflective analysis and the deliverables.
