Optional course in Specialization in Adult and Vocational Education and in Multicultural Study Programme in Education.
Learning outcomes
After the course the student will - understand anthropological, cultural and ethical underpinnings of concepts such as work, occupation, industry and economy in relation to (different forms of) education - be aware about the changing meanings of work and education in cultural evolution and in constitution of human-nonhuman relations - be able to engage in cross-cultural discussion about the future of work and work-related education
Contents
Individual and group literature reviews accompanied by lectures; cross-cultural reflections on meanings of work and education, supported by relevant case studies from work-related educational praxis; development of position papers problematizing current pedagogical practices and suggesting alternatives from the perspective of planetary justice.
