Objectives

- Students reach the readiness to scientific post-graduate education.
- Students reach the readiness to operate as an expert.
- Students reach the talent for participating in the social conversation of the field.
- Students attain the proficiency in language, communication and cooperation required by the working life, scientific activity and social conversation.
- Students learn to recognize, manage, and use the scientific and professional concepts of the major as well as manage the basics of the minor(s).
- Students attain the ability to apply scientific methods to current and concrete assignments.

Supplemental courses

The student can select either SGN-6056 or SGN-6106 to his/her common programme studies. The course SGN-6056 is a prerequisite for the course SGN-6106. If the student has knowledge in biochemistry and microbiology, he/she doesn't have to study the course SGN-6056.

- Itsenäisesti tehdyn tieteellisen tutkimus- tai kehitystyön suorittaminen ja raportointi
- Pääaineen alaan liittyvän kokonaisuuden hallinnan osoittaminen

Additional information related to the thesis
In connection with the thesis, student has to write a maturity test, which is an essay written on a topic related to the thesis. The test demonstrates the student's command of the thesis topic.

Additional information related to the degree

In order for the student to be able to complete the Master's degree she/he must obtain the minimum of 30 cr with the average of 3,0 (out of max 5) during the first year.
