Description

KATVAA11 Business Ethics (Yritysetiikka) course or corresponding studies is a compulsory first part of this thematic module. The student must complete KATVAA11 Business Ethics (Yritysetiikka) before being able to complete the other courses of this module. If you have corresponding studies from another university, please contact the teacher about taking the thematic module.


Business ethics; Stakeholder approach; Corporate sustainability; Corporate responsibility and accounting; Corporate social responsibility reporting; Relationships between business, society and nature; Responsibility in different business models and contexts.

Objectives

Having completed the module, the student recognises and understands the elements of responsible and sustainable business.

The student understands the relationships between social, environmental, and economic issues in business and is familiar with the challenges related to their interlinkages. The student knows the theoretical underpinnings of business ethics, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability. The student is able to identify and apply tools for organisational accountability and responsible business practices.
