  • The student
    - distinguishes between amorphous and ordered materials and their most important use cases in photonics
    - understands how nano-structuring and periodicity in materials affects their optical response
    - recognizes the importance of physicochemical surface properties in photonics and the most important surface characterization techniques
    - identifies basic working principles and applications of devices based on semiconductor materials
    - learns team work and reporting skills
