Introduction to international energy policy; energy transition; national, EU, global level

This course introduces students to international energy policy and the energy transition. The student will know and understand the main concepts and current interdisciplinary debates in the field of international energy policy and how they relate to the energy transition on the national, European, and global levels.

The course will equip students with the skills to analyse and discuss the main policy problems of the transition to an energy system based on renewable sources of energy in a multifaceted manner, to apply theoretical perspectives to better understanding this complex issue area, and to understand the difference between policies based on fossil fuel and renewable energy sources.
