Tavoitteena on muodostaa käsitys Euroopan unionista poliittisena järjestelmänä: unionin instituutioista, päätöksenteosta ja keskeisistä politiikka-alueista. Lisäksi perehdytään tärkeimpiin integraatioteorioihin, alan keskeiseen tutkimukseen, sekä unionin tulevaisuuden haasteisiin.
Luentojen aiheet ovat: Integraation kehitys, Integraatioteoriat, EU:n toimivalta, Päätöksentekojärjestelmä, Komissio, Neuvosto ja Eurooppa-neuvosto, Parlamentti, Ulkosuhteet, EU-jäsenyyden vaikutus kansalliseen politiikkaan, Laajentuminen, EU:n tulevaisuuden haasteet.
